When installing moodle on free hosting using the script installer an important change needs to be made.

The data directory defaults to a folder that is NOT in the htdocs folder causing issues, to correct this the following must be completed.

eg the data directory must be set to the correct data directory for your domain name.

Choose HTTPS only if SSL is installed on your domain.

If the domain that moodle is being installed on is an addon domain or an additional subdomain, then the data directory should include the addon domain name / subdomain name , eg.

Once installed you will need to use the File Manager and locate the moodledata folder, and COPY and PASTE it into the same folder as your moodle folder.

Then use the file manager to update the path to the moodle data folder by editing config.php file

So in config.php change:

/home/youruser_234234/htdocs/moodledata

To

/home/youruser_234234/htdocs/yourwebsite.com/moodledata

And save it!
